Last week ..

we decorated or rather you decorated the Christmas tree ... you were so excited and enjoyed every minute decorating it ...

we went to the shop to get more decorations and lights and when we got back at 6pm you didnt want to go bath, you wanted to start decorating the tree ...

I had to beg you to bath first and then decorate the tree and you agreed, but was that the quickest bath you ever had ...

Normally you like 'swimming' in the bath, but last week you were in and out in like 5minutes ...

You then set out to start with the decorations of the tree and said that you would eat supper after decorating the tree ... you did such a great job decorating it and I'm so proud of you and promise to take a picture of it ...

The school is closing this coming Friday and I know you excited for the upcoming holidays ... you initially wanted to spend Christmas with your father, but decided to stay home and rather visit him the following day ...

Cant wait for Christmas and I know you cant either ...

Lotsa love

Dear son

We only have 30days to go til Christmas and I know you are very excited and cant wait anymore!

This past weekend we bought you your last needed things for Christmas, which basically sealed the deal ...

You went to cut your hair on Sunday and wanted to make spikes for school (you look so cute with spikes), but your stupid principal gave you a warning yesterday and we had to cut off all your hair.

I just wanted you to know that I love you and cannot wait to see the expression on your face on Christmas morning.

Love ya

Bad mommy!

Its been a while since I wrote you a letter, things have just been so hectic. I'm sorry for not writing.

You are becoming such a rebel and have started throwing tantrums. I don't know if it has anything to do that you are heading to your teens, but I know its not an underlying factor.

Just like me, you cannot wait for Christmas. You ask me everyday "how many days to Christmas?"

I think you actually looking out for your gift that you will be getting.

Last night we spoke about what activities you can do next year and came up with the following:

  • soccer
  • cricket
  • karate
  • swimming

We will still decide which activity will be best suitable for you and your health. I am actually leaning on swimming, but we'll still see.

Love you lots

Attitude?

Dear Son

I bought you a watch today....

Because, you are always commenting "if I had a watch I would be home at the right time", "if I had a watch I would know which time school dismisses" and my favourite comment "If I had a watch I would always be on time" - LOL

So myself and daddy R decided we going to buy you a watch so we went out and bought it.

Today school closed once again for spring break, unfortunately this time around you will on be at home until 05/10 so just little over a week of sleeping late and playing all day.

You have grown so much and tomorrow I will be taking photos of you to post on your blog and to share with all your aunts from OPM.

I wish you all the success in the world and I love u lots.

Dear Son

I haven't written to you in a long time and I would like to say I'm sorry for that.

We have been so busy lately with all our happening in our lives and you have not been home most weekends. Yes, your father is building a relationship with you. I guess it never was too late for him to start doing it.

He fetches you every Friday and if he cant make it, he sends your grandpa. You seem to enjoy spending time with him and I'm very happy the two of you are getting so close, but in all honesty I'm also jealous that he might 'steal' you away from me and I know for a fact that daddy R feels the same way.

I miss spending time with you on weekends because like I said every weekend you spend with your father.

I hope you enjoy your weekend with your father and I want you to know that I LOVE you alot.

Dear Son

We have decided to renovate your room.

We decided that you need some colour in your bedroom and that it needs a bit of a change. So we have come together (you, me & daddy) and decided to repaint it, take the carpet out and to get a few new furniture.

At first your ideas was so colourful. You actually wanted the walls, floors and ceiling blue and you wanted a cars theme on the one side and music on the other side. So cute!

We have all agreed that we will keep it clean and the walls will be painted blue, the ceiling white and we will buy white tiles for the floor. We have also decided to go with either white or black furniture and we will paint a few stars and a picture or two of a car. You have also asked that we paint your name onto the wall, but daddy and myself have decided to rather buy wooden letter blocks to make up your name.

You are very excited as we are starting to work on your bedroom this coming weekend. Daddy has already filled all the cracks and he has put up a new curtain rail. So this coming weekend we will start painting the ceiling and looking for the tiles for the floor.

I will definitely post some before and after pictures of your bedroom.

Remember, mommy loves you lots.

Dear Varney

Only 2 weeks and 5 days until your birthday. It is going to be great.

There is only 1 day and 1 weekend left before you go back to school. It is so cold lately that I'm worrying about you for next week, but I know you're a Big boy, so the cold is not a big factor in your life.

I have been thinking about your future alot lately and I only want the best for you.

Dear Varney

Today I am worried about you as you are sick again. Every night mommy prays onto God for Him to heal you completely.

I know being sick most of the time cant be fun and the weather is not helping much. Mommy has asked grandma to watch over you and to put you on your nebuliser. I also told grandma to keep you indoors so that you can rest well as you didn't sleep well last night. You were up coughing the whole night.

It's better that you sick this week instead of next as school's are opening on Monday. I hope you feel better real soon so that you can enjoy the remainder of your school holidays.

This coming weekend is grandma's birthday and you want us to take her out to eat. We still deciding where we going to take her.

Grandma is also going to make some of her famous soup today as per your request so that you feel better soon.

Mommy loves you more then anything in the whole wide world ...

Dear Son

Just 3 weeks and 5 days until your ninth birthday and I cant wait!!!!

You have matured so much and surprised me by saying you don't want a gift for your birthday and instead you want your bicycle to be fixed. I was and still am planning on fixing your bicycle and buying you a gift.

I'm so shocked at all the friends you have made over the past few years and you are still continuing to make friends, which means I'm gonna have a long list of invitees at your tenth birthday. Here I go again, fast-forwarding to the future when your ninth birthday hasn't even passed yet. ;-)

I'm sorry I spent so little time with you last night, but mommy wasn't feeling well and had to sleep early. Being the big boy you are you totally understood.

I couldn't laugh last night when you sang or mumbled to Single Ladies the ad, but I'm smiling now.

There is just one day, 2 weekends and a week left before school restarts and soon the holidays will be over. But, don't worry you still have your September/Spring holidays and December/Summer holidays coming up.

PS: Daddy is planning a boys day out for the two of you ... shhh don't tell him mommy told you ...

Love u lots

Dear Son

Hi my boy!!!!!

You have been sick for the past 2 days and mommy decided that you should stay home. You've got a cough that seems to irritate you. I have given u tons of medicine and have put you on the nebuliser to help with your breathing.

You should stop being such a rebel wanting to wear shorts in the heart of winter and the temp is 13C today. I called grandma to hear how you doing and she said that you are well and that you in the house and dressed warmly.

I really hope you feel better soon so that we can play and laugh again.

Mommy loves you lots and forever!!!!!

Dear Son

sorry for not writing to u on Friday ... mamma was busy!!

This weekend we had fun. On Friday, we did what we normally do ... hired movies.

On Saturday, we went to Spur. You and dad like going there even though mom wants to try something new like Ocean Basket, but you 2 don't want to. So I guess I was outvoted. At Spur you got a voucher for a free meal for the next time we go, which I'm guessing will be this weekend. Men and Spur!

We then sent daddy to the music shop so that we could dash in-and-out of shops, with NOTHING in our hands as a Father's Day gift to him. We then decided to throw in the towel and go home and rather ask daddy what he wanted for a gift.

You made him 2 beautiful Father's day cards. You are so creative and intelligent. ;-)

We made daddy's favourite dessert and you grated chocolate on top to make it YUMMIER.

You had a bit of a cough when we were watching movies and mommy decided that her little man was not going to bath and I just rubbed your chest and back with Puma Balm and put on your warm PJ's for you.

On Sunday, Father's day, we got up early and you wished daddy and gave him the cards and we already gave him his gift on Saturday. We then ran daddy's bath water and you got him some yogurt to eat.

We then treated him like a king, carrying everything he requested to him.

I love you my son more and more each day!!!!!!

Dear son

I love u!!!!

You growing up and getting more and more independent. You're always questioning everything.

Yesterday grandma went through uncle J's funeral policy and told me that she was the beneficiary if something would happen to uncle J. You asked what a beneficiary is and grandma explained to you that if something happens to uncle J (God-forbid), that she will be the one responsible for your cousins.

You then looked at her inquisitively and scratched your head and then you remarked "but old people die first".

Grandma, laughed uncontrollably and you had me in a chuckle as well.

I am so happy that you discovering yourself more and more each day.

Love u lots like jelly tots.

Dear Son

Yesterday we had such a great time.

We woke up and had breakfast that daddy made for us ... his special pan toast.

We then went to the video shop to hire some movies and headed back home. It was drizzling and cold and we enjoyed a warm cup of Milo under a blanket in front of the TV.

We watched 3 of the 4 movies we hired and we joked and laughed around. You had your bath at 4.30pm as you still wanted to watch Sponge bob Squarepants. You go crazy and throw tantrums if you can't watch it. I of course always give in (you'll understand this when you become a parent). We had supper and watched TV. You put up a fight when it was bed time. (Don't know what it is with you these days... might be because you're becoming more and more independent each day) After a long struggle and you constantly saying "but mommy, I'm not tired yet", we went to bed at 9.

I love you more and more each day.
